The next meeting of the Grand Rapids chapter of the International Thomas Merton Society will be held online (via Zoom) once again – but, hopefully, for the last time! – and we will discuss the next few chapters of Thomas Merton’s book The Ascent to Truth.
Read these chapters and come prepared to discuss them on Wednesday, May 12, at 7pm:
Chapter IV – False Mysticism
Chapter V – Knowledge and Unknowing in Saint John of the Cross
Chapter VI – Concepts and Contemplation
Chapter VII – The Crisis of Dark Knowledge
That encompasses pages 59 to 117 (a little less than 60 pages total, or about two pages per day) and will take us to the end of Part One.
