The next meeting of the Grand Rapids chapter of the International Thomas Merton Society will be held Wednesday, October 13, IN PERSON here:

Orchard View Church of God is located at the corner of Three Mile Road and Leffingwell in the northeast section of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Easy access is via the East Beltline. Get off at the Three Mile Road exit. Leffingwell is on the south side of Three Mile Road between the East Beltline and Dean Lake Road. (You can see the church from Three Mile Road.) 

We meet in the Community Room starting at 7pm. Our meetings usually end at 9pm. There will be bottled water and treats available.

We will discuss Part Three (“Doctrine and Experience”) of Thomas Merton’s book The Ascent to Truth. Pages 243-336.

Starting in November, we will begin discussing the book Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander.
