Just a reminder that the last meeting in 2021 of the Grand Rapids chapter of the International Thomas Merton Society will be IN PERSON on Wednesday, November 10th (tomorrow!), at 7pm in our spiritual home:
Orchard View Church of God
2777 Leffingwell Ave NE
Grand Rapids, MI 49525
Orchard View Church of God is located at the corner of Three Mile Road and Leffingwell in the northeast section of Grand Rapids. Easy access is via the East Beltline. Get off at the Three Mile Road exit. Leffingwell is on the south side of Three Mile Road between the East Beltline and Dean Lake Road. (You can see the church from Three Mile Road.)
Our group has always taken the month of December off so that members could focus on the Christmas season.
So, after our November 10th, we won’t see each other again until 2022.
We will begin discussion of Thomas Merton’s book Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander, starting with these sections:
Introduction
Preface
Part One: Barth’s Dream, pages 3-45
All told, that’s about 52 pages. Should be do-able.
We look forward to discovering what everyone hears from God regarding Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander.
Of course, there will be bottled water and treats available.
We look forward to seeing you on the 10th!
NOTE: We will not offer a Zoom option to attend our November meeting. So if you live in the West Michigan area, and you’d like to join us, please sashay on over to Orchard View Church.
